in Maranello, Italy? For those of us who love luxury cars, but can’t exactly arrange a private tour of the facilities, there are plenty of photos available out there to indulge in! Let’s check out the Ferrari Factory, Italy.
Surprisingly, Maranello is a small town, located between Florence and Venice. It is just a bit west from Modena, hometown of Enzo Ferrari himself.
Public tours are not offered at the Ferrari Factory, and only a privileged few have access, for a number of reasons. The production process of one of the original supercars is of course safeguarded, but of course blends the old-world craftsmanship with the latest available technology to maintain the classic, but not be left behind.
Inside the factory, the dedicated employees wear Ferrari-red uniforms and seem genuinely happy to be part of something so much larger than themselves. They are an integral part of the development of one of the most impressive luxury cars of all time, after all! These lucky souls get to be up-close and personal with every Ferrari that comes out of the factory, not a bad gig! I am certain there are many jealous Italians who wanted their jobs!

Sold by David Geffen in 2006 to a private buyer via Sothebys for $151.2 million dollars
2. Woman III by Willem de Koonig 1953
Sold by David Geffen to Steven A. Cohen in 2006 for $148.5 million dollars
3. Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I by Gustav Klimt 1907
Sold by Maria Altmann in 2006 to Ronald Lauder, Neue Galerie for $144.8 million dollars

These are the list-toppers for expensive paintings out there, though it is uncertain if any are available (collectors tend to hold on to them). What happened in 1990 and 2006? I ask because 3 of these paintings were sold in 2006, and 2 in 1990. Is this a curious coincidence, or did David Geffen perhaps need a bit of money in 2006, to the tune of nearly $3 million dollars (as he sold 2 of the top 5 paintings). These affairs are often highly discrete, and of course, highly priced.

The Barefoot Bandit Hits Miami
Submitted by imaginelifestyles on August 3, 2010 - 3:26pmThe infamous and wildly popular “Robin Hood” like media child, Colton Harris-Moore (dubbed the Barefoot Bandit), seems to have developed expensive tastes! The clever kid has fled to Miami, where he has continued to evade officers in some jaw-dropping luxury cars!
Yes, just when the world thought the sinewy saga of the Barefoot Bandit had come to an end when the youngster was snagged in the Bahamas, he seems to have made a slippery escape to Miami. Upon reaching Miami, the Bandit swiped a bright red Ferrari F430 rental from a valet; it is unclear how he accomplished this feat.
Once behind the wheel of the flashy luxury sports car, the bandit decided to take it for a spin up and down Ocean Avenue, hitting up a McDonald’s drive-thru before local law enforcement gave chase. Hey, it is not everyday you see a Ferrari at a fast food joint, although I have seen some Lamborghini's in some fairly funny spots!
Known for his elusive maneuvers, the bandit successfully escaped, leaving behind the precious Ferra
ri F430 spider, top down and smoking off of I-95 and some fast food wrappers in the passenger seat. I assume he took his beverage, as there are no cup holders in the F430.
Frustrated, officers were left with no options, but they did not have to wait for long! Within days, a luxury yacht was reported stolen from the dock, and it seemed obvious who the culprit was. The Barefoot Bandit had jumped onboard a snazzy 54’ Sea Ray Sundancer, and was enjoying a sunset cocktail in style.
Apparently the luxury yacht charter had not been noticed missing or reported immediately, as when officers arrived on the yacht, there was no trace of the Barefoot Bandit, only the remnants of his meal onboard.
The experience of driving a luxury car had certainly led to an acquired taste for the exotic, and I am sure the yacht excursion accomplished much the same! What will he do next? Will he become more flamboyant?
Now the city of Miami and South Beach is on fire with rumors of the Barefoot Bandit’s latest string of luxury thefts. Officers are nowhere near closing in, and I heard the other day that he was spotted behind the wheel of an Aston Martin DB9 in Coral Gables. How long will these tales continue? I suppose that depends how long Colton plans to call Miami home!

1. Medinah Country Club. (6N001 Medinah Road, Medinah, IL) A golfing paradise for Chicago’s elite since 1925, you better hope you know someone before heading out with your clubs to Medinah CC. One of Chicago’s most elite golf memberships, not just anyone gets the privilege of playing this 54-Hole Country Club. This course has been host to numerous professional events and majors, including the host course for the Ryder Cup in 2012. 
2. Cog Hill. (12294 Archer Avenue, Lemont, IL) Featuring four 18-hole masterpieces, Cog Hill has recently been voted as the best place you can play golf in Illinois and was also recently given 4 stars by Golf Digest. Most of you will want to reserve a tee time at the most famous “Dubsdread” course #4. This is where the Western Open used to be played and where the BMW Championship now is played. 3. Balmoral Woods. (26732 S. Balmoral Woods Drive, Crete, IL) Located about 40 minutes from the loop, Balmoral Woods is laid out over 280 acres of rolling hills and wooded areas that will challenge any golfer. Often rated as a top public course in Chicago, this truly is a must play for any avid golfer.
4. Ivanhoe. (28846 N. Thorngate Drive, Mundelein, IL) Completed in 1991, this is one of Chicago’s youngest, yet most prestigious, country clubs. Originally offering 18 holes of championship golf, a $4.5M renovation in 2003 brought 9 more holes to the club’s offerings. Now 16 years old, this club is truly one of Chicago’s finest and is continuing to make its’ mark as one of Chicago’s finest golf courses.
5. The Glen Club. (2901 Westlake Avenue, Glenview, IL) Opened in July of 2001, this Tom Fazio design is also one of Chicago’s newest additions to the elite golf course scene. One highlight of this north shore course is the multiple views of the Chicago skyline from various holes. This public masterpiece, which will run you about $175 a round, is a very fair golf course but will also challenge even the most avid low handicapper in your group. Corporate memberships are also available.

Meet the $10,000 car wash.
Yes, I said $10,000 car wash, more than some cars cost in the world! For those who own or invest in luxury vehicles that cost anywhere from $200,000 to $2 million dollars and more, you want the car to stay in mint condition inside and out. Of course you would never pull your Pagani Zonda, Bugatti Veyron or Lamborghini Gallardo into a regular car wash, where $25 can get you the works, and possibly some scratches.
No, when you own a certified luxury car, you shell out a little extra for your car washes, sometimes more than a little extra if you go to Gurcharn Sahota of Elite Detailing. Here a super-luxe car wash can take up to 4 weeks, and cost over $10,000. My guess is that about now you are asking y
ourselves how this can be.
Sahota’s detailing process begins with a thorough wash down using a pH neutral shampoo and citrus degreaser, with the added assistance of clay bars to remove problem spots. Next, an electric scanner and impossibly fine sandpaper remove microscopic scratches from the paintjob prior to a sexy Brazilian wax that costs over $12,000 per can.
If the price tag of this luxury car wash was shocking, you may be even more interested to learn that it is operated out of Sahota’s parents’ home outside of Derby, England. Yes, Sahota has transformed his folks’ garage into a workshop, with a pit and imported Italian tiles. Jersey Shore Meets Miami

Yes, the self-proclaimed “Guidos/Guidettes” will be touting their self-centered, trashy idea of sophistication that so many have come to adore on our beach lines. And will the world ever be watching! The question i
s, will Miami accept the cast?
That is the thing about Reality TV, the more outrageous, the more people want, and then it must continue to become more shocking to please the audience. And this theory is no different when it comes to the cast of Jersey Shore.
Mtv has made the executive decision to film season 2 in sunny Miami, Florida, so will it be called “Jersey Shore Miami”? Leaving Jersey Shore seems to defeat the purpose, and I can’t picture this particular group fitting into Miami’s ultra-chic, upscale and sophisticated society. Even our nightclubs are lined with an air of luxury and quasi-respectable behavior. Imagine the famous “Snooki punch” episode repeating itself at the posh W Hotel South Beach…sigh.
Many are sharing my sentiments here, as South Beach is the playground for the elite, and I am not too sorry to point out that these kids are certainly far from elite. In some instances it does take more than a respectable paycheck (a rumored $10,000 per episode) to earn respect. I recommend they take notes from Paris Hilton, who can party and hang out anywhere in South Beach, while maintaining a sense of style.
In South Beach, the cast may not be thrilled to find others staring at them disdainfully over the rims of premium martinis, not the standard Jersey Shore beer-can-head smash types. I wonder if they will become bored quickly.
Many seem to feel that the cast of Jersey Shore are littering the beaches with their presence. I suppose they are going to add a bit of skank to Miami's swank. I am interested to know how my readers feel on this standpoint (comment below, don't hold back).
So we will all be watching as the cameras roll on 'The Situation', 'Snooki' and the rest of the Jersey Shore gang as they parade their fist-pumping assets down our strip. Well, at least Snookie had the foresight to arrive in an Escalade; perhaps she has done her South Beach homework. Raising the velvet ropes for this group is sort of like pulling up to a valet in a rusted Ford Tempo.
I feel certain they will require a few luxury rental cars Miami style this season, and equally sure they should hire a chauffeur.
