I love technology, and I love luxury cars. So what is better than new technology in luxury cars? There are some serious brains out there, dreaming, designing and daring to improve on perfection. Auto perfection. Welcome to the future, in all its science fiction like glory!
Here are some of the best upcoming tech trends for luxury autos:
1. Emergency Steering Assist
2. Simplify Your Drive
3. AutoLine
4. Active Force Feedback Pedal
5. Intelligent Tire System/Fill Assist
Emergency Steering Assist. A car equipped with emergency brake assist already knows when it’s too late for braking. How? Because it knows how much traction it has, and how many feet it will take in order to bring the vehicle to a stop to avoid a collision. But what if it isn’t too late to swerve to avoid the accident? Enter Emergency Steering Assist.
The system does not take over and steer for you, so those of you afraid of “robots” can relax-this is no transformer. The system compliments emergency braking systems, working with your electric steering rack to vary the torque by direction, enabling it to ‘suggest’ the proper direction to steer to avoid a collision.
Simplify Your Drive. When it comes to an automobile, there is no specific ‘profile’ that fits every car type down to every last detail. Many newer luxury cars have driver-determined profiles, to save each individual drivers preferred settings such as temperature, seating position, audio selection and more.
Imagine a full LCD interface with modes for Eco, Comfort and Sport, customizable, of course. A push of the button can control throttle mapping, suspension, steering feedback, damping and more. You know, for the more serious driver.
AutoLine. There is an app for that…and it is on your dashboard? Continental Corporation in Germany is developing AutoLinQ, in efforts to bring all of the perks of a Smartphone to your car. I for one feel that we deserve it. The technology is Android-based, so that developers will be free to create any applications they desire.
So what about safety? Most people cannot even walk and operate all the apps on their iPhones and other Smartphone’s, and now they will be driving one? The system will read emails and rss feeds aloud to the driver, and the company is also working on text-dictation to, so that eyes never have to leave the road. Sign me up, I want an iPad that I can climb into and drive.

Active Force Feedback Pedal. This techy tool is simple, applied foot pressure can be varied instantly from light to stiff, and the pedal will pulse back on your foot. The idea being that instead of bombarding the driver with too many beeps and lights, the vehicle can communicate physically with the driver. If your suffering from “lead-foot”, the pedal will tap you back to make sure you are aware of it. Thank you, Knight Rider. I picture my 'Kit' as a talking Ferrari rental, showing people around Miami and South Beach in style.
Intelligent Tire System/Fill Assist. This smart sensor detects when your tires need more air for you. It is mounted on the inner tire tread, where it measures tire pressure, temperature, weight in car and g-force. This sensor only weighs a few ounces and can communicate with the ABS and ESC systems.

The 2010 Rolls Royce Ghost may well be the baddest addition to luxury sedans worldwide, and by bad I mean good.
Yes, the latest luxury sedan put forth by Rolls Royce is solidly positioned as a sort of entry-level piece, with a price tag of around a quarter million dollars.
Entry-level, you ask? Well yes, with the knowledge that sibling Phantom is $380,000. Today’s Ghost also seems to be a bargain when compared to predecessors the Silver Ghosts, which ran from 1906-1926 and are valued well into the millions.
The new Ghost may seem hauntingly familiar, as it was based on the BMW 760Li. BMW owns Rolls-Royce, keep up with me people. Though Rolls-Royce says the 2010 Ghost only shares around 20 percent of its construction with the 760Li, and expresses that most of the new Ghost is all-new and exclusive to the Rolls brand. Don’t be so touchy guys, I love both.
So what is under the hood of this beast, er, Ghost? Concealed by a glamorous hood is an all-new twin-turbo V12, slightly larger than BMW’s version. The power plant puts out 563 horsepower and utilizes an 8-speed automatic transmission sourced from BMW. The sheer power from this luxury engine eases the fact that it is still a Rolls-Royce, and therefore not exactly the anorexic supermodel of luxury cars, but rather a plus-sized jewel. Here’s a fun fact: Back in the day, Rolls-Royce didn’t exactly quote engine output, but rather said it was “sufficient”. You sly cats.
It is also suitable and stylish for daily driving, where the bulkier Rolls-Royce Phantom is more for special occasions and luxury car chauffeur services. Not that a Rolls-Royce Phantom chauffeured is something I would turn my nose up at, but if I were in the market for a daily driver, and wanted a Rolls, I would select the new Ghost. Not sold? Try our new Rolls-Royce Ghost rental.
While the 2010 Rolls-Royce Ghost will likely be the main seller for the luxury company, it is still going to be rare for people to experience an uhm…ghostly encounter!

From airline attendant to underdog superhero, and seemingly overnight, Steven Slater has certainly made his point. What he likely didn’t realize was the multitude of other issues that would be brought to the surface in the mix. So what is up with commercial air travel?
To recap, Steven Slater was a JetBlue flight attendant and self-professed “Bag Nazi”. Slater made a dramatic exit, and headlines, quitting his position by grabbing two beers and sliding down an emergency exit slide following an altercation with an unruly passenger. (see photos at right, nice sleeves officer...)
Surprisingly, it is not the cabin confrontation itself that is generating the most attention. This event has effectively put a spotlight on the less than savory commercial airline industry. It is much bigger than JetBlue, its employee, and commercial airline passengers. What has erupted are feelings from all sides regarding the deterioration of public airline travel, an industry that seems to be imploding.
In the past, commercial air travel was something passengers looked forward to, and even dressed-up for. These days, with severe budget cuts, airlines in bankruptcy, drastic security measures and low m
orale, most people feel an overwhelming sense of anxiety flying. So with both the employees and clients feeling the pinch and feeling anxiety and stress, it was just a matter of time before an event brought this deeper issue to the front page.
Passengers are hit with more fees, including bags, taxes, insurance and new security measures are constantly imposed, coupled with the usual delays and long lines. Airline workers are not making huge salaries, and are working long hours waiting on the now unhappy and stressed passengers. This is a problem. How will it be solved?
Well, if you have the means, private aircraft charters are a great solution, allowing you to completely avoid the hassles of commercial airline travel. For the rest of the airline travelers, it remains to be seen what, if any, changes this episode will invoke.
Slater was released on a $2,500 bond, and was reportedly surprised by the media frenzy his story had created, saying,
"I knew there was a brouhaha about this, but while I was on the inside I didn't realize how much attention it got." he added that it feels "neat."
As for the 100 passengers from that JetBlue flight, they will all receive a $100 voucher, per the standard airline rule.

It seems that lately all I hear about are new hybrids, hybrid technology, or carbon fiber. While all of these are innovative and interesting, it is also refreshing to know that some brands are opting to maintain their identity, at least for now.
Porsche CEO Michael Macht has reportedly expressed his sentiment that hybrids lack excitement for the curve junkie, and that the luxury brand has no real need for them. The brand has tweaked some of their SUVs with hybrid technology, like the hybrid Cayenne and Panamera, but is not in a rush to do the same to their sports cars. Hybrids do not exactly hit mach speeds, eh Macht?
This isn’t to be confused with a refusal by Porsche to become more “green”, technology will certainly advance in the near future. Right now, hybrid technology is still in its infancy, and they are quite heavy, cumbersome and complicated. Porsche could certainly design and engineer a hybrid 911, but at what cost? Perhaps Porsche is smart and savvy to hold off a bit longer, waiting for the technology to eh, lighten up a bit.
After all, the point of a luxury car is to enjoy its power and speed, and hybrids are slowly evolving. I look forward to a day when energy consumption can be successfully slashed without compromising power! I think all automakers would agree with that standpoint. It is a thin line between trend and market sustainability.
Porsche has adopted regenerative braking, though without a hybrid system. It is used to inc
rease efficiency and relive the engine load.
New lightweight materials such as carbon fiber and improved hybrid designs are constantly being tested, and hopefully the technology will see a widely successful future. As it stands, a hybrid engine is on the heavy side, and that subtracts from the satisfaction of a speedy little Porsche sports car. It will be interesting to see what the luxury company has in store for the future, for now, Porsches will maintain the classic colors like red, white, or black, and perhaps turn green down the line.

It seems that South Florida has something to feel good about, other than the constant sunshine and marbled Atlantic coastline! The local hotel industry is reporting increases for the first time in a while, which should help to bolster the economy.
The economic downturn, depression, however you prefer to label the financial catastrophe that has rocked the entire globe and changed so many lives seems to be retreating somewhat. The South Florida Business Journal has reported that local hoteliers are experiencing higher occupancy rates, figures that are surely needed.
Recent national events deserve a nod of gratitude for this increase, such as the Pro Bowl, Super Bowl, Food Network’s South Beach Food & Wine Festival, FASHIONmiami and other luxury events that attract guests to our sandy shores and into our plethora of hotels, residences and luxury condos.
South Florida hotel occupancy increases by county:
• Miami-Dade: 7.2 percent occupancy increase
• Broward: 8.2 percent occupancy increase
• Palm Beach: 7.5 percent occupancy increase
These figures reflect the time period around early summer, and the national average is a 5.9 percent increase, which means South Florida is doing better than most. It remains to be seen whether this welcomed trend will continue, but with great digs like the new W Hotel South Beach, the Setai, or the plush Fontainbleau, it is difficult to imagine the struggle lasting for long. Residents and hoteliers of South Florida look forward to a future of prosperity, posh parties, fine dining, entertainment, celebs and oh so much sunshine!

Dear Imagine Lifestyles,
What is your opinion on using an airport chauffeur for clients coming into town on business versus letting them rent a car or take a taxi? I am struggling to maintain my costs at every corner and feel that the airport chauffeur’s are an expense that I should be able to avoid. Please let me know your thoughts.
Sincerely,
Rick, Houston![]()
Dear Rick,
As always, thank you so much for taking the time to submit your question to us. We truly do enjoy assisting clients in any way possible. Your question raises an extremely viable point in these tough economic times and is one that we feel very strongly about. Our answer to you is very simple. How much do your clients matter to you?
The concept of cutting costs is nothing new and is something we strive for within our own business model all the time. However, you have to look at it from the perspective of the client. Are they going out of their way to come to Houston or Chicago or New York or wherever to meet with you regarding your business relationship. What does it say about the value of his business to you if they are left standing at the taxi stand in the middle of August heat or January snow?
One additional way to look at this additional cost is to consider your company’s financial standing without said client in the picture. Would an additional $150 expense each time he or she comes to town justify the million dollars in revenue they bring to your bottom line. Cutting costs are always going to be a factor in any business; we just don’t think taxis are the best choice in this scenario. As frequent travelers ourselves, we know how convenient a chauffeur service can be. Traveling is frustrating enough; at least you can eliminate some of the stress for your client. We would also be willing to guarantee your client will take notice of your gesture and be appreciative. Contact Imagine Lifestyles today to arrange all of your airport chauffeur services for that next top client coming into town. For those top level clients that you really would like to impress I would recommend an exotic rental car for a day. Next time you are in Chicago you are welcome to come see our fleet of Chicago exotic car rentals.

Top 5 Places to Watch Air and Water Show
Chicago’s Annual Air and Water show will draw millions of people to the lakefront, rooftops, and boats alike this weekend. Imagine Lifestyles was wondering where Chicago residents think they capture the best view of the actual air show. As well as getting a great view, we also think having a good time and enjoying the show should factor in as well. Imagine Lifestyles Chicago attempted to compile our own top five list of the best places to enjoy the overall experience of the Air and Water Show.
1. Yacht
2. North Avenue Beach
3. Rooftop
4. Lakefront Condo
5. Oak Street Beach
1) Yacht - There is no comparison to watching the show from the comfort of your own personal luxury yacht charter. The planes literally fly directly overhead and sound as if they might just come land on the water right next to your boat. Having a spot on the water also enables you to see all the acts performed in the water and gain a better appreciation for how exciting and entertaining they are as well. Viewing the Air and Water show from your own personal yacht truly is the best way to go.
2) North Avenue Beach - Aside from being out on the water, North Avenue Beach will provide you with the best view of all the activities going on at sea and in the air. However, there will also be a million other people sitting next to you enjoying the same thing. There is nothing wrong with a crowd, and sometimes it can add to the excitement. The only recommendation we would have is to get there early, very early. Bring a cooler, some lawn chairs, and plenty of sunscreen and sit back and enjoy the show.
3) Rooftop - Depending on whether or not you luck out and grab a spot on a high-rise roof top, this destination can also provide some fantastic once-in-a-lifetime views of all the action. Any rooftop scattered along the Gold Coast up to Lakeview will do the job as long as you are above the tree line and have no buildings blocking your view. The BYOB and barbeque style of all rooftops also gains them some points towards ensuring a good time. If you are lucky, you might even get a flyover by the Blue Angels as they are looping their way back into formation.
4) Lakefront Condo - For those unlucky enough to not have a rooftop, a living room view out the window is not the end of the world. Sitting in the air conditioning on the comfort of your own couch or loveseat is not that bad after all. The sound of the jet engines might even get muffled as they roar by each pass. As long as you have some big windows, this spot should not disappoint.
5) Oak Street Beach - With similar pros and cons to North Avenue Beach, Oak Street is the spot to catch all the action as they finish their flight path and head for the other end all over. The crowds here will be just as crazy as North Avenue so be sure to arrive as early as possible. Parking does not exist at this beach so expect to do some walking before you find your perfect resting spot as well.
Wherever you decide to watch the Air and Water show this weekend Imagine Lifestyles is sure you will have a wonderful time. It really is one of Chicago’s greatest benefits during the summer. Nowhere else in the world can you find a show this large and exciting for free. For those of you who cannot seem to think of any rooftop parties you can crash or want to avoid the crowds of both beaches, contact Imagine Lifestyles Chicago to reserve your own private luxury yacht rental today.

If you are behind the wheel of a sexy Cadillac Escalade, you should be aware that it is among the most stolen vehicles. Yes, this luxury SUV is in high demand on both markets-sales and steals.
The most stolen Escalades are the 2007-2009 models; in fact, they are the most frequently stolen vehicles in the United States (according to Highway Loss Data Institute). Watch your wheels, Snooki! You don’t want to get blasted an
d pass out in your Escalade; you may wake up with some unwanted company.
As a whole, luxury SUVs are always a hot commodity for auto thieves, and account for the highest overall theft losses. Second on the hot list are oversized pickup trucks. Want to know what auto type is stolen the least? That would be two-door mini cars…because well, who the hell wants those anyhow.
For the past 7 years, the Escalade has held the title as the most stolen, thanks to its fame and high resale value. The Escalade EXT is the most stolen Escalade model, a 4-wheel drive with all the bells and whistles. These SUVs have been popular for a long time, as celebrities and the music industry have fallen for them and the rest of the world has followed suite.
Closing the gap behind the Escalade for most stolen are the Ford F-250 crew pickup, Infiniti G37 luxury car and the Dodge Charger with a Hemi engine. It looks like the grocery-getters, station wagons and fuel-sippers can heave a collective sigh of relief, as they are unwanted even by their owners.
Among the least stolen vehicles are the Toyota Prius, the Saturn VUE, Volvo S80 luxury car and the tacky Nissan Murano. You guys can likely relax, too.

Dear Imagine Lifestyles,
I love skimming over your blog during my break everyday. I just wondered why people rent luxury cars. I mean, wouldn’t someone just buy a Ferrari if they want one? I am trying to figure out the mentality in investing in a vehicle you will not own.
Anyway, I enjoy reading your stuff and will wait for your reply.
Hello Steve,
First off thanks for following our luxury blog, we appreciate all of our clients and fans! Secondly, you raise a very good question asked by many in the luxury auto industry. I am happy to explain why some opt to utilize exotic car rentals rather than purchase them outright.
Many people travel often, and in each new city, they are in need of a luxury car rental to keep up appearances and impress clients.
There are also those who want to drive a luxury car like a Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lamborghini or other, but do not want the expense and pricey maintenance associated with ownership. So rather than dropping around $300,000 to buy a supercar, then insure it, put fuel in it, maintain it and pay for pricey storage, they just drop a couple grand here and there and enjoy ours.
And what if you like variety? If you buy an expensive luxury car and then get tired of it, what do you do? When you choose to rent exotic cars, you have the choice to switch it up whenever you want, keeping the excitement alive and experiencing the latest models that luxury brands have to offer.
We hope this helps to clear up the confusion Steve, and hope you will decide to try out a luxury rental car to see exactly what we mean! Please check out our fleet of Chicago exotic car rentals and Miami luxury rental cars.
Sincerely,
Imagine Lifestyles

Air and Water Show
The oldest and largest free show of its kind in the world comes to the shores of Lake Michigan this weekend for the annual Chicago Air and Water Show. Residents and visitors to the city will begin to feel the rumblings of jet engines on Friday as the pilots and flight teams run through their aerial routines for practice day, often regarded as the best day to see the action without the crowds. Speaking of crowds, expect to see about 2 million people in attendance over the weekend. The best place to view the show is on North Beach, located between Fullerton Avenue and Oak Street.
For those of you who are veterans of this amazing day on the water, this year’s show will be combining the air and water show into the same act so make sure to be in your seat on time. The show starts at 11 AM each day and will run until approximately 4 PM. Imagine Lifestyles is here to help you avoid these massive crowds and enjoy the aerial show from the comfort of your own luxury yacht rental.
