What you are looking at is the product of a random hookup between Lamborghini and French motorcycle racing company Boxer…it was a one-night stand. Rather than hide their bastard child in shame, however, the couple proudly introduced it in 1986, at a time when the company craved diversity.
What the hipsters are now driving, the Lamborghini Design 90
How do I know that Lamborghini wanted diversity? Looking back at that particular time period, note the LM002 Lamborghini SUV (which may be back soon, follow link!). Enough said. Sports cars and motorcycles and SUVs, oh my!
Lamborghini LM002…eerily similar to today’s Hummer
Back to the bike at hand–the Lamborghini Design 90 uses a 1,000cc, 4-cam, 4 valve per cylinder straight-four Kawasaki engine producing 130 horses. The end result is a Lamborghini motorcycle that can reach about 159 miles per hour. Yeah, I expected more speed, too.

The Design 90 bikes did not fare well on the market, because they were twice as pricey as the leading sport bike at that time. For that reason, production was brought to a screeching halt after just 6 of the 25 planned bikes were built. You can have this one, it is featured on Jameslist for $77,557 USD!
