Maserati SUV Featuring Ferrari Power Plant

Maserati SUV Ferrari Power Plant 2011

Ferrari’s power plants are highly sought after and heavily utilized by Formula One racing teams like Ferrari, Lancia, Alfa Romeo and Maserati.  The brand also puts out some of the world’s leading luxury cars and exotic rental cars regularly.  While none of that is surprising, it seems we may be on the brink of a luxury Maserati SUV sporting a Ferrari powerplant.  Mind=Blown, hats off to Maranello once again.

Ferrari Power Plant Maserati SUV Detroit

According to the alliance’s chief executive Sergio Marchionne, an all-new Maserati SUV will be built in Detroit, featuring an engine designed by Ferrari, with Jeep underpinnings.  Is Maserati on a high-horse?  Well, at least it is set to be a prancing horse, and could place the Maserati brand in a position to compete with the curious Lamborghini SUV, the Lamborghini LM002 and possible LM00X, sporting the Countach’s V12 engine.
