Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Exotic Rental Car

      The name Murciélago means "bat" in Spanish and is the name of a fighting bull that survived 24 sword strokes in the 1879 fight at the arena of Córdoba. The bull, Murcielago, fought with such passion and spirit that the matador spared his life, which the rarest honor in the bullfighting. With that in mind, Lamborghini named the 2001 successor to the Diablo, Murciélago. The Murciélago is a two-door, two-seat coupé. In 2006 the Murciélago's engine was upgraded to a 6.5-liter engine and the car's name was amended to the Murciélago LP640. For the 2007 model year Lamborghini did the same with the Murcielago roadster model, which is now called Murciélago LP640 Roadster or convertible.  
      The LP is an abbreviation for Longitudinale Posteriore which refers to the "backwards" mounted engine with transmission in front. The 6.5 L V12 engine puts out 633, which is substantially improved from the base Murcielago. The new six-speed manual transmission or optional paddle shift has been married to an electric Launch control device called "Thrust." The Murcielago LP640 does zero to 62 in 3.3 seconds, with a 219 plus miles per hour top speed.  New 18-inch Hermera alloy wheels have been added and the LP640, of course, has retained the famous scissor-opening doors.  
      The Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 Versace is the special edition LP640 Coupé introduced in 2008. The Versace has all the same performance features, the only difference is the two tone white-black trim, on both the exterior and interior of the car. Plus, there is custom Versace leather seating at $10,000 per seat and a Gianni Versace logo inside the car.  Only 20 special edition Murciélago LP640 Versace models will be produced.
